Ready to take on the challenge? Your role as Data Engineer Maybe you noticed, but we have big ambitions. So you, as a Data Engineer, will play a critical role in ensuring we reach our goals. You will design, build, and maintain efficient and scalable data pipelines to collect, process, and transform data from various sources into actionable insights. You’ll ensure that data is available, clean, and reliable, working closely with your Data team colleagues to optimize data flows and drive impactful business outcomes. You will help us harness the power of data, enabling data-driven decision-making across the organization.

Who you are

  • A tech enthusiast with a deep understanding of data engineering and integration;
  • A Bachelor or Master's degree in a technical field like ICT, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics or something similar;
  • At least 3 years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role;
  • Expertise in data pipeline development, data warehousing and ETL processes;
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python and working with large-scale data architectures;
  • Experience with data modeling (3NF, data vault, etc.), database management, and performance tuning (i.e. query & pipeline optimization);
  • Experience with cloud technologies (AWS) and infrastructure and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes);
  • Experience with DevOps processes, such as CICD;
  • Willing to learn new ETL tools (like Talend and dbt);
  • A strong problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative, international environment; you should be fluent and comfortable in English;
  • A clear communicator who enjoys working with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.

Bonus points if you have...

  • Knowledge of machine learning, data science, or AI;
  • Experience in the logistics or supply chain sector.

What you’ll do
  • Data Pipeline Development: Design, develop, and maintain robust data pipelines that collect and process data from multiple sources, ensuring data is clean, accurate, and accessible.
  • Optimization & Automation: Continuously optimize data pipelines, ETL processes, and workflows for performance and efficiency. Automate manual processes to improve operational efficiency and set up automated monitoring solutions.
  • Driving Innovation: Support data-driven innovation by integrating emerging technologies such as cloud solutions, machine learning, and advanced analytics.
  • Internal Collaboration: Collaborate with the multidisciplinary data team and other stakeholders to implement scalable solutions that support data-driven decision-making.
  • Team Contributions: As our Data team is new, we’d love your input & contribution to further mature the team, e.g. by devising data governance strategies, setting up comprehensive documentation and devising the optimal way of working.
